How it works

How Pathways works

Pathways is a free platform that gives every high school student equal access to real, firsthand guidance on college and careers. Students, professors, and admissions counselors share experience, connect as mentors, and answer questions in one focused space, designed for reading and thinking rather than endless scrolling. It takes what works about a feed, a forum, and a professional network, and builds it for education only.

The features

One focused place, built for students, by students.

Everything below exists because students told us it was missing when they went looking for answers.

A feed that respects your time

Real posts about campus visits, competitions, internships, and scholarships. Long-form and honest, with no short-form video and no reposts. You leave knowing more than when you arrived.

Follow or Connect

Follow to stay updated. Connect, mutually, to actually message and learn from someone.

Verified mentors

Professors and counselors are checked by a person against their public faculty or staff page before they get the badge. Advice you can actually trust.

A safer inbox

One-on-one only, never group chats. Messages are permanent, and sharing contact info or arranging meetups is blocked automatically.

Sage, when you need an answer now

The optional AI advisor built into Pathways. It knows your grade, school, and goals, and you can hand it an essay draft to read. $5 a month, and the only thing here that costs anything.

Search that actually finds your future

People, high schools, colleges with public or private and in-state filters, summer programs, and majors, all in one search. Counselors search for students like you, not the other way around.
The comparison

Where students look today, and what Pathways adds

These are all places students already go, and each is good at what it was built for. None of them was built for choosing a college.
